Read every message in your language.
Send every reply back in theirs.

Ambiglot is a Chrome extension. Set the language you think in, and the sites you already use start showing incoming messages in it — and quietly send your replies out in whatever language the other person wrote.

How it works

  1. Set your language once. That is the whole setup.
  2. Messages arrive translated, in place, with the original one click away. Nothing about the page moves.
  3. Write your reply normally. When you press Send, Ambiglot rewrites it in the sender's language first — and shows you what is going out.

Where it works

Gmail, Telegram Web, Discord, eBay and Airbnb messages are on at install. Slack, Teams, Messenger, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Etsy and about twenty more can be switched on from the toolbar, one site at a time — and any messaging site you use that is not listed can be tried the same way.

What it does not do

It does not create an account, collect your name or email, run analytics, or keep your messages. Text is sent for translation only at the moment a translation happens, and is not stored afterwards. The privacy policy says exactly what is kept on your own device and why.
