Email hello@ambiglot.com. A person reads it — usually the person who built this — and replies within one working day. Include the site you were on and what you expected to happen.

Something isn't translating

  1. Check the toolbar button. Click the Ambiglot icon while on the site. If it says the site is off, turn it on there. Gmail, Telegram Web, Discord, eBay and Airbnb are on from the start; every other site is one switch away.
  2. Reload the page after turning a site on. Chrome only injects the extension into pages loaded after permission is granted.
  3. Is it already your language? Ambiglot leaves messages alone when they are already in the language you read in, and when it is not confident what language a very short message is in.
  4. Still nothing? Click the toolbar button and copy the line shown under the site's name into your email — it says how many messages and composers the extension found on the page, and whether the site's layout may have changed. It contains counts only, never the messages themselves.

My reply went out untranslated

Ambiglot translates on send only when it knows what language the other person writes in, which it learns from their earlier messages. In a brand-new conversation where they have not written yet, it sends what you wrote. The Send in chip beside the send button shows which language your reply will go out in before you press it, and you can change it there for that one message.

I paid but it still says Trial or Free

Open Ambiglot's settings from the toolbar button and press Refresh under Your plan. Stripe normally tells us within seconds, occasionally up to a minute. If it still is not right after that, email us with the receipt Stripe sent you and we will fix it by hand the same day.

Cancel my subscription

Email hello@ambiglot.com from any address; tell us roughly when you subscribed so we can find it. It is done the same working day, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing about your setup is deleted — you drop to the free plan.

Refunds

Within 14 days of your first payment, a full refund on request, no questions. After that, see the terms — in short, we refund time the service was genuinely unavailable to you, and we are reasonable about the rest. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and take 5–10 days to appear, which is Stripe and your bank, not us.

Delete my data

Everything on your device — settings, the translation cache, remembered languages — is removed the moment you uninstall, or from the settings page under Data (Clear cache and Forget all) without uninstalling. The one small record our service holds (your plan and this month's usage, against a hashed identifier) is deleted on request: email us and say delete my record. There is no name or email in it, so include the Installation ID shown under Data on the settings page so we can find it.

Report a bug or a site that broke

Sites change their pages without telling anyone, and when they do Ambiglot can lose its footing on them until we adjust. If a site that used to work stopped, that is almost certainly why — email the site name and the diagnostics from the toolbar button. Fixes for the sites enabled at install are our first priority.

Security

If you believe you have found a security problem, email hello@ambiglot.com with Security in the subject. We will acknowledge within two working days and keep you informed.
